I have a buy to let property which I am planning to sell, unfortunately due to serious breach of contract by both letting agent and tenant I am in financial deficit caused resulting from rent arrears and legal expenses. I would be grateful for any input with regards to claiming these losses against capital gains of my property Thank you Barry Moezzi

Hi,
You cannot claim these against the Capital Gains Tax. These would be rental losses and if you have no further rental income for these to be set against, then they are lost.
Thank you.
