I came to UK on 9.5.2022 and tried to purchase a new house in uk in June 2022, The developer failed to hand me vacant possession 11 months after he accepted my offer. I terminated my offer and bought another UK house on 1 May 2023 and returned back to Hong Kong to sell my Hong Kong residence on 21 December 2023 before returning to UK. I gained £200000 for the sale of my house which I lived since 21 May 1997. How to calculate the capital gain tax?

Hi,
You can work out if you need to pay Captial Gains Tax when you sell, or 'dispose of', your home and find out if you are eligible for Private Residence Relief using the following guidance:
Tax when you sell your home
Thank you.
