Hi Lucinda,
Good record keeping is essential.
Poorly kept records can mean that information provided is not accurate and may result in expenditure or reliefs being claimed incorrectly.
Or you may not claim  allowable expenses or reliefs correctly.
Please have a look at the guidance here: :
HS284 Shares and Capital Gains Tax (2024) Updated 6 April 2024
Tax when you sell shares
CG59500C - Capital Gains Manual: Shares and Securities: Valuation of shares and securities: contents
Thank you.

Hi I have a question about this, In an hipothetical scenario where: - I bough 10 Shares Company A in January 2021 - I bought 20 Shares Company A in February 2021 - I bought 20 Shares Company A in December 2022 - I now own 50 Shares in Company A in 2024 - I decide to sell 30 Shares Company A in December 2024 the profit has triggered CGT so I need to report it using your real time CGT service from HMRC. All these shares are under Section 104 holding according with HS284 docs, however how do I fill the AcquireDate in this situation as this sell impact multiple buys ?

You would use the first date.
Thank you.
