My mother plans on gifting her property to me, she lives in France. She will still be living in the house and I will not profit from it. It is currently valued at €200,000. Will I have to pay any tax once it is gifted to me? If I sell once she passes will there be any tax for me to pay on it then?

Hi benalmond,

There will not be any tax to pay for you when it is transferred.
However, you may be liable to capital gains tax when the property is sold, see - Tax when you sell property

Thank you
