Our daughter wants us to live near her in a their spare property. If we let our property out, will there be a capital gain tax to pay, should we later sell our house? Thank you.

There could be a possiblity of Capital Gains Tax being payable.

You will be entitled to claim Private Residence Relief (PRR) for the period that the property was your main residence. PRR is calculated as the number of months that the property was your main residence plus a further 9 months over the number of month you owned the property. This fraction is set against any gain that arises. You can see guidance here:
