Is it necessary to report the sale of a residential property (not my prime residence) if there the financial gain is within the CGT allowance or one has made a loss?

Hi ,

If you are UK resident and the property is located in the UK, then you do not have to report the disposal of the property,
as there is no gain.

It is up to you if you want to claim for losses to carry forward.

If you are not UK resident and it was a UK property, you have to declare the disposal within 60 days of the completion date in all cases.

Thank you .
