Hi, I'll be moving to Canada during the summer, I currently own a home in the UK that will be sold. I expect to move to Canada in July. I would expect my house to complete in August/ Sepetember to allow 12 weeks fore conveyencing. Would I need to pay CGT if my house is not my primary residence when the sale completes, or is there not CGT if the completion is within 9 months of my reloction?

Hi,
The period of 12 weeks would fall within the final 9 months of ownership and so it is unlikely that CGT will be due.
Thank you.
