I inherited a property and have spent two years carrying out improvements in my spare time. The property has remained empty. I have incurred costs for insurance, utilities, council tax and travel expenses as well as the costs for materials. Can these costs be offset against CGT?

Hi,

Only the improvement costs are allowable against any CGT.

Thank you.
