Dear Sirs, I am just completing this form for the French tax authorities and was a bit stuck as to what I should place here under the CGT section. The proposed completion of sale is set to be 1st / 2nd week in June. We need this form completed upfront to avoid any retaining of funds after sale. Details of asset sold Date the asset was sold ???? (cant use a date in the future!!) How much did you pay for the asset? Is this the complete transaction including costs at the time of purchase back in 2016 ? (in GBP) How much profit did you make selling the asset? Is the amount/difference we will receive in GBP after all costs have been deducted ? Thx in advance, Gary..

Hi,
You cannot submit a request for a certificare of residence in advance of the disposal of the property, only after the propert is disposed of.
We cannot issue them for a future date.  A Social Tax is now charged when customers sell properties in France.
To reduce the amount of this charge documentation confirming that an individual was resident in the UK when the property was sold and certifying the individual meets the conditions of UK social security legislation under Article 10.3 of the Trade and Cooperation Agreement with the EU is being requested.
Claimants should submit CA8421 for action and not a Certificate Of Residence.
For further information you should contact 0300 200 3500.
Thank you.
