Hello, I had a considerable gain in stocks investment during last tax year. But then, I made a bad move and have lost it totally in current year. I am afraid I don't have the money to pay the tax for capital gain last year now. Can I report loss this year to HMRC when I file my tax for last year?

Hi,
You will report the loss in your tax return for the year it is applicable but losses cannot be carried back to offset against previous gains.
Thank you.
