If an inherited foreign property was not valued at the time of transfer/death, what methods can I use to calculate the market value of the property at the time? Can I use the market value per square metre, and work it out from there? Do I have to use a professional to value it or can I do this myself? Thanks.

Hi hyjuice,

You would need to contact an estate agent or solicitor to ascertain a value based on similar properties sold at the same time the property was acquired.
You will need to get 3 valuations and take an average.
