Hi - If employee travels to their usual workplace from home (outside of normal office hours – e.g. on a night or a weekend/bank holiday) will all business mileage incurred be subject to tax? And does this differ if the journey also includes travel to somewhere that is not their usual workplace - would this be taxable? What if the employee travels directly from home to another location that isn’t their workplace? Is the total journey subject to tax? Thanks

Hi - I am unable to locate the answer to my questions in the guidance you have referred to. Can you provide a response to the question or direct me to the section of the guidance where it references business mileage on a weekend and/or outside of office hours. Thanks

Hi,

The guidance provided does not differentiate between day travel or night or bank holiday travel. If it is business related then it is covered by the same rules.

Thank you.
