My company currently pays me and my colleagues a standard day rate, but the company covers hotel booking and payments, pays the 25p/45p mileage and food allowances etc. But they are looking at increasing our day rate and we would then have to cover all charges involved with the work. So my question is with us being PAYE would we be able claim any expenses or mileage/food allowances back at all? as our company are being vague on this matter and saying that would be down to our accountants. cheers for any help Nige

If your company are paying for the expenses you incur including the full mileage rates then there will be no additional relief to claim.

If however, in terms of mileage they only pay part of the approved rate, then you can claim the remainder from us.

Thank you.
