Can a landlord claim for a new paver 10m long car driveway. The old concrete drive was cracked damaged unsafe. house has been rented for 20yrs Not allowed to use concrete anymore!

Thank you for your question. As the new driveway was not a like-for-like and can be sene as an improvement to the property, this would be deemed a capital expense, so could not be claimed as an expense. Additional information can be found using PIM2030 : Property Income Manual     . Thank you.
