Hello! I'm a self-employed psychotherapist. I attend many courses, webinars and conferences. All of them are related to my job and essential for my professional development. Also, I'm a member of a few professional societies (I pay a fee there). Would it be correct to count all of these as expenses? Thank you!

Hi,

The conferences would need to agree with the wholly and exclusively rule.  Please see guidance regarding professional societies and conferences here:

BIM42525 - Specific deductions: administration: overseas conferences

The professional society needs to be on our list 3 to qualify as an allowable expense:

Approved professional organisations and learned societies (list 3)

Thank you.
