Hi After many try to reach the information, I learned that our EORI number was ended on the 1st of November 2022. I was wondering why it's ended? We haven't change anything like the registered address or company name etc. We trade with many countries and we need the valid EORI number as soon as possible for importing and exporting some products which are waiting customs clearance urgently. Please kindly advise us what we need to do. Thanks

Hi I assume you mean your GB EORI number for imports into and exports out of GB. It’s unusual for an EORI number to be cancelled unless there has been a change or deregistration of a VAT number. Or it hast been used in a long time. Either way I would expect you to have received notification. I would first check the online EORI checker. As I don’t work for HMRC I can’t post a link but you should be able to find it if you search the .gov website for ‘Check an EORI number’so you can be certain the EORI number is invalid. If you are VAT registered the number should usually be ‘GB then your VAT number followed by 000’ If you are NOT VAT registered you could just apply for an EORI again. Approval is almost instant but if there was a reason you couldn’t be approved you would at least know. If you look on the ‘EORI get help or report a change of circumstances page, on the . Gov website you will see under ‘get help’ a link to an EORI enquiry form which you could try. Perhaps one of the HMRC admins can add the links to this thread.

Hi,

You should contact ISBC.eoricontact@hmrc.gov.uk supplying the EORI in question and explaining the situation.

You will also need to reapply to restart the EORI here:

Thank you.
