Hallo, I am considering a return to the EU (I am german) after living in the UK for over 10 years. I'd like to know what kind of documents to prepare if I wanted to move my household goods in a privately rented van via the Eurotunnel to Germany (aka point of entry being France). I am aware that I'd need the 0350 form for customs in Germany, but what would I need upon entering the EU in France? Also how do I valuate personal belongings I have owned for over 20 years for customs, where I do not have any purchase bills anymore? I am aware that a removal company would do the paperwork, but I am trying to explore what other options there are for me to organize the move.

Hi Beza,
If your goods are for personal use, you do not normally need to make a formal declaration (requiring you to complete an electronic customs declaration) when you bring them
into or out of the UK.
These goods include private vehicles that have been in the UK before, and personal effects and gifts carried in your luggage or driven in a vehicle.
More information on below link:
Check how to declare personal goods you bring into or take out of the UK
Thank you.

Hi Beza You will need to check with the French authorities what their requirements are for personal goods being transited through France. Normally there is a requirement for goods to be customs cleared at first entry to the EU or use the transit procedures, however there may be specific requirements or concessions for personal possessions.
