Dear HMRC, My husband and I both paid for things used for the property with my bank card or his. My question is if expenses have to go through a specific bank account in order to claim cost when doing self-assessment.

Hi Spr Purnell,
It does not matter which account any expenses are paid from.  
You should just keep a record of the expenses incurred and keep receipts in case these should be requested at a later date.
