Inherited Property/gift with reservation vs Home buy loan

Slightly off topic but nobody can seem to give me a straight forward answer. Just want to know if a family member gifts a property to me via reservation of benefit as I bought my own property via a new build home buy loan (government funded equity loan) would I have to remortgage as I technically would own 2 homes?
