Good morning, I know a landlord is not self-employed for tax purposes (in this situation), and I am wanting to change the year-end from 5th April to 31st March to delay MTD. The landlord is below the threshold for MTD in 2023 but just should the turnover increase. The option to change this date is not on the tax return. Why is this, please? Is it because self-assessment income is less than £1000 (as it is income from property) that the option does not come up? Thank you for any help

If you select that property income is less than £1000 and you are using this allowance, then the property section will not appear.

You would need to select yes to this being over £1000 in order for the relevant property section to show.

Thank you.

Hi, Thank you for your help. I've since read the draft legislation for MTD and can see that a 31st March YE will not delay MTD anyway, so it's fine, I'll leave it the way it is. Thank you for your help.
