We have been using Quickbooks to submit our VAT returns for the past 18 months to two years but all of a sudden Quickbooks is unable to connect to HMRC. We have followed the Quickbooks guidelines etc but we cntinue to get the following error code 'CLIENT_OR_AGENT_NOT_AUTHORISED'. Please can someone advise how we can reactivate this authorisation?

You can manage permissions for tax software on GOV.UK.

You will see your software linked to your HMRC business tax account. Disconnect your software, Then open your software and re-establish the link with your HMRC business tax account.
