Hi, I am trying to log in to the government gateway and I get an error after inputting my NI number. it says it doesn't match your records. I input my first name, Last name, date of birth and and then it asks me to enter my NI number and it's at this point I am told the details don't match records you hold. I recently received my tax code letter from HMRC and the details I enter are from that. Only thing I can think is that HMRC somehow has my date of birth wrong, which I doubt. What am I doing wrong? How do I get past this? There is no information about how to correct this issue or call any one. Please help.

Hi  uduwawalan,

If you are entering all your details correctly, then the system is unable to generate questions to verify your identity and you won't be able to access the online account.
You can contact our Income Tax department to ensure all your details are correct.
