Having upgraded to version 25.1.25092.226 of Basic Payroll Tools the program immediately crashes whenever an attempt is made to print a .pdf or save a backup to a network location.
It is the only program on the system that crashes. All other programs can access the work and save files without any issue. It doesn't matter if the AppImage is run under Ubuntu 24.04 LTS or Debian Bookworm. The program crashes every time an attempt is made to access the network.
This all worked without any issue in the 2024 installable version of Basic Payroll Tools.

We can only advise that Version 25.1 of the Basic PAYE Tools was released on 4 April 2025. All users should download and install this version.
Information around any issues, including a blank screen, can be found at:

Thank you for the reply, but clearly the information provided was either not read or was overlooked.
Version 25.1 is installed - see version provided in original post.
The issue does not relate to any of the issues dealt with under the Basic PAYE Tools — service availability and issues link provided.
The issue is with the Linux AppImage tool itself and needs to be dealt with by the HMRC Basic Payroll Tools Linux developer(s).
It is not an issue with the HMRC service but an issue with the Linux version of the HMRC Basic Payroll Tools AppImage.
No information relating to the crashes appears in the log file, either.
Please can this information be passed on to the relevant HMRC department.

Hi RCL Support
As you know this forum has no access to tax records or the Basic Paye tools nor can we pass issues on to other areas within HMRC as there are respective paths on GOV.UK.
If after using the contact options available through:
Technical support with HMRC online services they cannot progress your problem then you can report this by going to GOV.UK page:
Download HMRC's Basic PAYE Tools
•    Ensure you have the updated “supported operating systems” installed and issue still persists.
If you have go to:
•    Click on “Contact” at the base of the page
•    Go to GOV.UK contact form at the bottom of white space on this page and click on this link
•    Complete the template in full (you can include your details for a reply)
Thank you.
