Hi I have an employee who has been off sick since April 2022. We paid her full pay for April and May and then SSP from June onwards. Is the 28weeks SSP counted from the date of her sick note in April 2022 or from when we paid her SSP in June? Thanks

To qualify for Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) employees must have been sick for 4 or more days in a row (including non-working days) Paid SSP is then  payable if the qualifing conditions are met for 28 weeks.
