Sole trader taking on an apprentice

Im looking at taking my 16 year old son on as an apprentice. I need to link a paye scheme to my account so i can register to manage apprenticeships. it wont be starting till september and when i try to register for employers paye it says i cant do it more than 2 months before the first pay date. What should i do? register anyway? what sort of admin does it generate. Thanks James

You can register now, but you will be unable to set it for a future date and it will mean that you will need to sbmity returns stating that you have made no payments to employees until your son starts in September.  Thank you .
