Working in the NHS our staff have to pay for parking at the hospital. There are discussions over different bands/levels of staff paying different rates with some bands/levels not paying for car parking due to the salary that they take home. Would this incur a benefit in kind?

Hi

There is no tax charge on a director or employee within the benefits code on the provision of a car or motorcycle parking space at or near his place of work.

Facilities for parking bicycles are also exempt.

You can find further guidance here:

Expenses and benefits: car parking charges

Thankyou.

Regards.
