Hello, I have an employee due to go off next month on Maternity leave. We offer 6 weeks full pay and 12 weeks half pay as an enhancement maternity leave. The employee has asked whether it is possible to spread their enhance pay over the 39 weeks of her maternity leave. I wanted to ask whether as a company we can do this, or not? Am I correct in thinking it is at our discretion as ultimately we are paying them the enhanced mat leave.

Hi,
Any decision re the enhanced payment is the employers choice, we are only concerned that they received at least the statutory amount they are entitled to.
