We have set up a new PAYE scheme for a client. When we tried to register the client as an employer on The Pension Regulator website, the PAYE references were not known and no letter code exists. When does HMRC inform TPR of new schemes and who do I contact to follow this up?

Hi

Please call 0300 200 3200 and we can check the reference numbers are correct.

I am unsure of when your numbers filter through to the pension regulator however if you contact them they should know when our reference are available after a new scheme set up.

Thankyou.

Regards.

Thank you. I know the reference numbers are correct because I have a copy of the letter from HMRC to the client showing the 2 references. The letter is dated 25th January 2022. However, having requested authorisation to act as agent. we have not yet received the code from the client. We therefore cannot call the employer helpline yet, as suggested. I just wondered why the Pensions Regulator had not been informed yet as we want to bring affairs up to date. I guess we will have to wait for the code.
