I paid for 2 additional years at the beginning of February but as yet my record has not been updated. I am now hearing that other people's records have been updated within days of payment. I'm starting to get concerned that my c£1600 has been lost and there is no way of getting through on the phone at the moment to check. Should I be concerned?

Hi ExNurse,

It can take up to 8 weeks for your payment to be allocated to your account.

Thank you.

Thanks for your reply. I am only 1 week off it being 8 weeks so what do I do if it's still not updated? I have seen online that many people are having their records updated within days of paying, I'm sure you'll understand it's worrying when that much money appears to have gone missing

Hi ExNurse,

If you are concerned about your payment please contact the NI Helpline on 0300 200 3500 to discuss this with an advisor.

Recently a system update was implemented to help the process of allocating payments for NI customers paying Voluntary NICs.

This could be what you are referring to from online responses.

Thank you.

It was actually updated yesterday 7 weeks and 2 days. I just don't understand why some people were reporting theirs being updated within days but hopefully the system has been sorted now to make it quicker for everyone. Thanks

Just to report my own situation hopefully to give hope to others. I paid voluntary Class 3 NI on 10 Feb 23 to HMRC. I did send a follow up letter as a catch-all about a week ago but this week my NI record and revised State Pension forecast have been updated, so its taken about 7 weeks. Thank you for sorting this DWP/HMRC. Perhaps the new system update is speeding up the process.
