If a UK resident sends a cash gift abroad (USA) of approximately 50,000, what tax implications will be incurred? The funds are from an inheritance gifted to the person in the UK, and will be redistributed to the resident in the US. If there are any tax implications, are there exemptions such as paying educational funds (ie. student loans), etc?

Hi ,

There are no UK tax implications on the giving or receiving of cash gifts.

You will however need to check if the same applies for the recipient in the US  .

Thank you .
