Please confirm how I can obtain the 18 digit National Insurance number that I will need to pay my Class 3 NI voluntary contributions. I have checked online and can only see references to the standard NI number that starts and ends with a letter and is total 9 digits long.Thank you.

Hi Jiveboy62 Dickinson.

If you are in the UK, you first need to contact DWP to enquire whether paying these contributions will increase your state pension.
Once you have spoken to DWP, you will need to contact HMRC to obtain the 18 digit reference number.

Thank you.
