Hi, I moved to the UK in July 2021. Before I moved to the UK, I transferred some money to my UK account. Some money was still left in my country of origin's account. Now I have become a tax resident of the UK. If I transfer my savings from my country of origin's account to my UK account, would there be any tax on the transferred money? Many thanks

Hi,

There are no tax implications in transfering savings / capital from a foreign account to a UK account, however, you may be chargeable for income tax on any interest accrued from funds.

Thank you.
