Hello, one of my relatives wants to give us a gift for our wedding. The amount is approximately £20k, transferred from a US bank account to my UK bank account. I would like to know if I should declare this income, pay taxes on this amount and which forms should be populated. Thanks.

Hi ahurtadomontiel23 hurtado,
There are no income tax implications on the receipt of a cash gift unless the cash gift generates interest or dividends, these would then potentially be subject to tax.
Further guidance can be found here (Tax on savings interest and Tax on dividends).
Thank you.
