Greetings, Regarding the form completion, is it possible to include the actual tax residency certificate issued by the local tax authority along with the DT form, instead of completing the "For use by the taxation authorities in the country of residence" section of this form? For Spain, the certificate complies with the regulations and is issued in both English and Spanish. It is not practical to attend a tax office to have the aforementioned section completed, signed, and stamped as required by the current form. Thank you in advance for any response.

Hi Ottoman,
For the Spanish DTA form, you include the Convenio residence certificate as this is classed as the confirmation and there is no need for the form to be stamped.
Thank you.

I am applying for a certificate of residence due to self-employed income received from Poland. (I teach online as a freelancer for a Poland based company). The following questions on the form are confusing: Which article of the country's Double Taxation Agreement covers the income in this request? Are you the beneficial owner of the foreign income received? Do the subject to tax provisions apply to this foreign income? Could you advise? Thank you.

Hi,
Article 4 will apply for residence and you are the beneficial owner. Subject to tax provisions does not apply.
Thank you.

Hi As a UAE resident the FTA will issue a tax residency certificate for a given year. So for the 2024/25 tax year will I need to obtain a certificate from the UAE authorities for the period from 1st January 2024 to date ensuring it covers at least 183 days. I was advised to attach the certificate to the DT-Personal form

Hi Rafid,
You will need the certificate to start from the date you became resident there.
Thank you.

Hello, I need to provide a proof that I've been living in the UK for 6 years now, to my home country (Portugal) in order to rectify my address in Portugal that wasn't changed due to an issue from their side. I know you can issue a confirmation letter when there's no foreign income in the middle which is the case. I've been always employed with the same company since I got to the UK. However when I'm applying to request that confirmation letter which my embassy requests, there's a question about if I spent more than 183 days outside of the UK, and unfortunately I spent a bit more in 2020/21 due to Covid and all the restrictions that were in place either from the UK, Portugal or airlines side of things - I kept working and paying my taxes accordingly in the UK. I know HMRC issued a statement regarding this at the time to ease this rule since it was a moment completely out of our control. How can I get this confirmation letter? Can I click in "No" once that questions pops again? Thanks in advance.
