I've been sent a letter saying my tax code has changed as I haven't paid enough tax so far this year. I'd rather just pay the tax instead of my tax code changing, is this possible? I don't see any option to do this when I log into my account. I can't get hold of an advisor on the online chat (I've tried several times) and I can't wait for hours on the phone!

Hi,
You can pay the tax due through your Personal Tax Account using the following link:
Check how much Income Tax you paid last year
Thank you

Not HMRC...this sounds like an in year adjustment for an estimated in year underpayment?...in which case, no you cant pay it direct...if its a liability for a prior year then what HMRC said would be correct
