I currently have a tax free amount addition due to previously having to work from home due to Coronavirus. I recently returned back to the office and wish to remove the tax free amount addition and am trying to do this online. When I create an “ended tax free allowance” it asks for the “correct gross amount of tax free allowance”. Is this £0 or is it £12570 (I don’t have any additions or deductions from the standard personal allowance)? Thanks.

Hi,

The amount should have been removed from your tax code at the start of the current tax year.

I would check your tax code is 1257L before sending anything online.

Thank you.

Hi, The amount has not been removed this tax year and my tax code is still 1288L which is why I am trying to remove the tax free amount addition. What would you recommend my next steps be. Thanks, Will

Hi William Cooke,

If its still in your code, then advising to reduce the Allowance to £0 would be correct.

Thank you.
