Hi I had to work from home from September 2020 until Summer of 2021 when the guidance was lifted. I have been trying to apply for the working from home tax relief on the HMRC portal, but it only gives me the choice to select the 22/23 tax year , which is not applicable Any advice on this? Thanks

Refer to - Claim tax relief for your job expenses

Answer "no" to the question are y0u completing a tax return for 2022/23 and it then moves to the next section where you can select an earlier year.

Thank you.

Hi Many thanks the quick reply. I’m doing the above steps but it’s only giving me the option of ticking one box as follows: HMRC have checked our records and you can claim for the following years. This tax year (6 April 2022 to 5 April 2023)

Hi PhilippeP,

If you are unable to get the option to claim for earlier years, you will need to complete the claim by post:
Claim Income Tax relief for your employment expenses by post

Thank you.
