My employer has refused to provide me with a P60 for 2021/22 and say they have no legal obligation to do so. This has resulted in a mortgage application being refused as the provider wants to see a P60 and won’t accept a screenshot of the information I can get on HMRC website. Can my employer legally do this?

Hi,

If they are unwilling to do so please contact our Income Tax team to report this and we can also issue something in writing with the information.

Thank you.

Can they legally refuse? Will HMRC fine them for refusing to provide a P60?

Hi,

We can not advise on any action that would be taken as its not something that we are involved in.

Thank you.
