Split Personal allowance

Hopefully I'm posting this in the right place. I currently work my main job (earning above the personal allowance) at an NHS Trust, and have joined their locum/bank service in order to pick up the occasional shift. I haven't done a shift since I joined in August but in November my tax code changed and my personal allowance is split. There is no way I would reach my personal allowance now because of how sporadic these extra shifts are. Is this a mistake?
