P800 tax rebate

Hi. I recently received a letter from HMRC stating i am owed a tax rebate. I went online to verify my details on the P800 link. I know the letter stated the refund will be paid within 5 working days but has any one received in to their bank account in that time? Will the payment just be issued after midnight, like wages, or could it arrive in the bank account an any time during the day?

Once it has been approved, the payment is received within 5 working days, we can't confirm an exact time of when it will be paid.

If it has been approved, you will see that the repayment has been issued on the account. it will be up to 5 working days from that time.

Emily just to warn you this isn’t necessarily true. Our 5 figure tax refund was paid on June 24th and we were told 3-5 days. Then 10. Then another 10. Now we are being told 6 weeks. So although I hope your receive your refund quickly, I wouldn’t believe everything these guys tell you as we are still waiting. Best of luck
