Hello I had a Cheque sent to my old address in July for a tax refund but I only found out today due to me making / creating my Government Gateway and found out I was due a tax refund, how do I go about getting the money now? Will I have to request a new cheque or will I just receive it into my bank now that I’ve created the gateway and have been eligible for a refund, many thanks Connor.

Hi Connor Entwistle,

The cheque is valid for 6 months.

If you are unable to obtain the cheque from the old address, you will need to contact our Income Tax team to request a cancellation.

We would reissue the cheque to your new address.

You can contact our Income Tax team here:

Thank you.
