Cash from parent almost 20 years ago

My father was given £15000 by his late mother almost 20 years ago. He is worrying he did not pay any tax on it at the time and believes he needs to declare this now. All information I have see suggests he does not. Is this correct?

There is nothing to worry about.  There are no tax implications on giving or receiving a cash gift.
