Income tax on cash gift received from abroad

HI...I am UK citizen and my mother in law wants to send me money from India as a gift. Is there any tax implication in UK and is there any annual limit?

There are no income tax implications on the receipt of a cash gift unless the income generates interest or dividends.

These would then potentially be subject to tax.
