Hello, I’m waiting for a tax update for the year ending April 2024. I’m expecting a possible refund, since I started a new job within the last tax year and got 6 weeks’ worth in my first paycheque, so I paid extra tax. But the HMRC government gateway app is saying it hasn’t yet been calculated. Isn’t this rather late? In all other years, I’ve received an update over the summer. For those of us still waiting, do you have any idea when we can expect this to be updated please? Thank you.

I'm still waiting for mine to be calculated also. I'm owed a refund. HMRC is waiting for my bank to supply interest earnings for that tax year. I have contacted the bank asking them to update HMRC but they said that they don't contact HMRC and that I would have to inform them. The bank can only supply me with an interest certificate. The interest is only £2.60 Gross. Can I forward this interest certificate to HMRC so that they can reconcile my account? I'm currently stuck between HMRC and the bank telling me both conflicting information and I can't get it resolved.

Hi, I am in a similar position. I left employment in July 2023 and had no earnings for the remainder of the 23 - 24 tax year. I have calculated I am owed a substantial refund, but HMRC gateway App says Tax has not been calculated. I understand this must be completed by end of November. Given it is the 15th today, is that still the case.
