TAX AS AN INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR ON A UK SPOUSE VISA

Hello! I recently moved to the UK from Ecuador to join my husband, and I'm a bit confused about how to handle my taxes here. I'm working remotely for a company overseas as an independent contractor, and I'm on a spouse visa. I've come across a lot of conflicting information online about what steps I need to take, and I'm not sure where to begin. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
