I’ve recently noticed that my name appears as "Ka Chan" on my Government Gateway account and P60s, but my full legal name as shown on my passport is "Ka Kit Chan" (with "Ka Kit" as my first name and "Chan" as my surname). This discrepancy seems to have been in place since at least the 2020–2021 tax year, and I’m unsure how it happened, as I always enter my full name when registering for official services. As I’m currently preparing to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), I’m concerned that this mismatch might cause issues during the document check stage. Before taking further steps, could you please advise what kind of action I could take regarding this? I’d appreciate any guidance on how to proceed and whether anything needs to be updated on your end or with HMRC. Thank you in advance for your help.
