Hi Bryan Smith,
You can view your tax code online here:

Or if you want to review you can contact HMRC:

Thank you.

Hi, I have a tax code enquiry. I was contacted by HMRC to say I need to pay more income tax and that my tax code will change immediately so that it can be paid. I was not given an option to pay it up front which I would have been willing to do as the code change takes a significant chunk off my monthly pension payment. Is there an option to pay up front?

Hi KJC62,
If the underpayment change is to your current tax code, in the form of an In Year Adjustment, you cannot make a payment towards this, as the underpayment is an estimate based on received income for the year so far, and may change slightly.
If the underpayment is from an earlier year, and is due to be paid through your forthcoming 25/26 code, you may be able to pay this in full.
Please contact us here:

To allow us to advise you.
Thank you.
