Hello, I'm in full time employment and next year will start to receive an NHS pension for a post I left in 1998. I pay tax through PAYE with my current employer. How will the tax on my pension be paid? Do I need to do anything or is this a seamless process as far as HMRC are concerned? Thanks.

Hi,

When you start to receive your pension, these details will be sent to HMRC by the pension provider.

If you are using your full tax allowance through your employment, you will pay tax on all the pension income. This should all happen without you having to contact us.

Thank you.
