Hello, Is the deadline the day before your 40th birthday? Or the last day of the tax year your 39th birthday falls in? I thought it was the first, and that is what I understand from reading the HMRC information. But someone told me it was the second, and seems certain of it. Thank you.

Hi,
The ISA manager's guidance states "individuals must be aged 18 to 39 to open a Lifetime ISA".
It would stand to reason that as long as you are under 40, even by a day, you can open a life time ISA.
You should discuss this with the ISA provider.
Thank you.
