Hi, I submitted P85 in november and I have still not got cheque even after getting it reissued in January. I have following questions 1) If I give UK address of nominee, can the cheque still come in my name and just delivered to nominee who can deposit in my UK account? 2) If not and cheque will come on their name, will they have any tax implication ? what is the procedure for the same ? 3) Wait for P800 and if it can be transferred online on UK bank account?

I live in austria and my bank here have told me that they no longer process cheques. If I need to claim a tax rebate for overpaid uk taxes on uk private pension payments, is it possible for any rebate due to be transferred electronically by hmrc to my bank here (rather than by simply posting a cheque to me at the end of the tax year) . This would clearly solve the problem. thank you.

Hi Jon I am sorry we are unable to pay a rebate into a foreign bank account.

HMRC bank transfers can only be sent to UK accounts

If you are unable to cash a UK cheque then if you contact HMRC we can advise on alternative options See below : Income Tax: general enquiries
Thank you.

Hello! I wonder if anyone can advise me on what I can do. I moved to Australia in October last year. I've recently received an email that I am due a tax refund and should wait for a cheque. The cheque had already been sent out when I updated my address. I tried calling but got redirected several times after being cut off. The new tenants at the place we used to rent sent me the photo of the cheque, and it doesn't appear it can be used online, I also hear the fees can be astronomical for overseas cash-out. As I am not physically present in the UK, what is the best thing to do? I appreciate your help! Thank you and have a lovely day, Veronika.

Hi Veronika,
There are options avaiable to you,we can re-issue the payable order to someone else on your behalf, if you still have contacts in the UK.
We will need to cancel the original payable order first, so you will need to contact ourselves to start the process.
